Pimpri: A lady traffic police officer was caught on camera while she was taking bribe from a woman. A video of the incident has gone massively viral on social media.

The video shows a woman sitting on a two-wheeler while her companion stands beside her. A lady traffic cop is standing on her other side. The second woman walks to the traffic cop and has a quick conversation with her.

The woman then takes out a note from her pocket and carefully slips it into the pocket of the traffic cop while the latter pretends to fiddle with her phone. After this, the cop gives the women a nod that they can leave.

While the two women are wearing face masks, the traffic cop is seen wearing a cloth around her mouth and nose. Traffic noises can be heard in the background.

The camera then pans to show there are other police officers standing nearby.

The video has gone viral across social media platforms including Twitter, WhatsApp and Youtube with the caption, "No Google Pay, No Phone Pe, Direct Pocket Pe." The 32-second clip has garnered more than 10,200 views.

One user said, "Who can change this country. Full of corruption." Another user posted, "Mera Bharat Mahan."

Soon after the video went viral, senior officals launched an enquiry. The cop was identified as Swati Sonnar deployed at Sai chowk in Pimpri.

"We receievd the video on social media. It was filmed at Sai Chowk. Our departmental inquiry will figure out what happened at the spot. We have suspended the constable from service. This gives out a clear message to those cops who have been induling in such preactices while performing their duties," DCP Pimpri-Chinchwad headquarters Sudhir Hiremath was quoted as saying by Mumbai Mirror.

This is not the first time that a cop was caught on camera taking bribe. In February, a cop named Ashok was seen taking bribe from a bullion merchant in Fatehpur district of Uttar Pradesh. A video of the incident showing the policeman taking Rs 50 bribe from the merchant had gone viral on social media.
